Today I was mostly...

Today I was mostly sawing olive wood into logs. Then it seemed to get a bit dark, so I looked out and what did I see? A couple of swallows who absentmindedly forgot to fly back to Africa and... snow! The first snow in about 4 years! It's thick and white out there, so I'm glad we didn't go to Popetto today, as we wouldn't have been get down the mountain without snow chains.

Snow? How fun to see a little snow just in time for the holidays, as long as it does not stick around.

We called the kind of snow that left soon "cute snow" in Virginia. We'd make snowmen, take pictures, then it would go away! Perfect. Glad you made the right choice.

Woke up this morning and there's a good 5 inches of snow actually lying on the ground (that's depth not width!) I wish I had my camera, so I could show you. It's a veritable winter wonderland out there with the wooded hills all covered in white as far down as the sea.

This is Italy you are speaking of? What about global warming? Last year everyone told us we`d soon have palm trees and olive groves at the Baltic Sea!!
Have a lovely Christmas and build a snowman, and nom I won`t let that fire go out! We had - 14^last night! Outside, luckily.

What a surprise Heiko. Enjoy it while it lasts.

I miss the snow of Cappadocia where we lived for nearly 4 years. It used to be waist deep in parts...and temps -20 degrees. Beautiful to look at but far too cold. Temp is 61 F here today..sunshine after more than a week of storms. Lovely.

That's a lot of snow! We seem to be in the only part of Europe that doesn't have snow at the moment, although it is very cold. For once I'm quite glad you haven't got a camera since everywhere else in the virtual world I visit there are pictures of snow!

The snow is still lying two days later. Incredible.

Weekend Farmer, Blackberry is another of those communication gadgets I've never quite understood. I went for a job interview once, where they told me "of course we'll give you a blackberry." I replied that that was alright, they grow wild where I live... Maybe that was why I didn't get the job.
